Dead Gentlemen Productions Releases New Video Podcast Show

TACOMA, WA – Don’t touch that address bar! Dead Gentlemen Productions, creators of The Gamers, is proud to announce its new online television show “Dead Gentlemen Presents…”, featuring zany material new and old from those kooky Dead Gents. The first episode is available today for download from www.deadgentlemenpresents.com and through the iTunes Music Store Podcasting Directory.

A free ten-minute online video, with new episodes released every two weeks, “Dead Gentlemen Presents…” is broken into short segments (or ‘pods’) of two to three minutes that will feature everything from short films and live sketch comedy to interviews and clips from the company’s back catalogue. Combining new material with old favorites, the show will provide high entertainment value for existing fans and introduce newcomers to the signature Dead Gentlemen flavor (now with less sodium benzatine!) The show’s first episodes are sponsored by Magnificent Egos Miniatures and National Games Week.

Dead Gentlemen Productions is an independent film company based in Tacoma, Washington. Their short film, “The Gamers”, has been screened to rave reviews in dozens of film festivals and game conventions worldwide, garnering an award for Best Fan Film of 2003 from Gen Con Indy.

The core members of Dead Gentlemen Productions met in college and found in each other a shared love of movies, stories, and laughter. In 2002, they incorporated as a professional film company, already having completed two feature films, Demon Hunters and Dead Camper Lake. In addition to film production, Dead Gentlemen also sponsors its own live comedy improv troupe. Dead Gentlemen Productions is currently in post-production on a brand-new feature film, “The Gamers: Dorkness Rising”, scheduled to be released in 2006.

Dead Gentlemen Productions has been kicking the audience in the groin with humor since 1999. “We bring the funny, you bring the ice.”

Improv Performances Coming Up

DG Improv performs twice this weekend for your entertainment pleasure, beginning with Friday’s show at Northern Pacific Coffee Company at 8 PM. The troupe is coming up on another anniversary at NPCC and fully expects Nathan to engage in some pre-celebrations at the coffee house following Friday’s show.

Additionally, this Sunday at 7 PM, DG Improv continues their second season at the Tacoma Little Theater. The group has promised to use the entire stage, to interact with the audience a lot, and to rescue Nathan from Friday’s libations in time for him to perform on Sunday.

Also this week, Ben Dobyns will return to the piano for both improv performances, having returned to Tacoma from his year in Ohio.

For more information and directions, don’t miss DG Improv on the web.

In unrelated news, be sure to check back here on October 14th for a very exciting announcement about Dead Gentlemen’s ultra-secret new project. We’re promising instant gratification levels to be reached that haven’t been seen since Club 54 re-opened for four sweet hours in October 2003.

Conan My Ass! Gamers Rules!

So our pals over at Magnificent Egos have some new products available. What might those be? Would you believe…

The Gamers: Dorkness Rising Pewter Miniatures

How cool is that? Honestly? Incidentally, the folks at Magnificent Egos are running a little poll on their main page asking what the greatest, non-Tolkien fantasy movie is. As of now, Conan the freaking Barbarian is in the lead, but The Gamers is a close second. How about we blast Conan out of the competition?

Finally, ‘Thrax is back with another email. Today, we get a little history on the Celestial War, and Duamerthrax’s role therein. Enjoy!

So how, you ask, are you supposed to keep up with this flood of information? I’ll tell you, how. Presenting, On the Road With the Dead Gentlemen! While the Gentlemen are enjoying themselves at the con, Dave Wolbrecht will be providing live updates at the new con blog, keeping those of us stuck at home up to date on all the Gen Conny happenings.
