It’s no secret that these economic times are tough. A few of the Dead Gents are unemployed, wages aren’t going up, jobs are hard to find. Everyone has their personal duty to be diligent and not spend unnecessarily. But I want to remind everyone this holiday season, that if you can spare it… go to your local game shop, your local comic book shop, and go spend some money. Why? The truth is, many shops are struggling. We’ve heard it across the country. They need you. And we all need them. If you don’t have a relationship with the owner of your local establishment, maybe it’s time. If you’re in the Tacoma area, go visit John Munn @ Comic Book Ink, or Chris Ewick @ The Game Matrix. In the Seattle area, go visit Rod @ Golden Age Collectables in Pike Place Market, or Scott Stafford @ Arcane Comics in Ballard. Up here in Bellingham, go visit Stacy @ Eagle Games. Down in Los Angeles area, go visit Jay @ Emerald Knights in Burbank.
Who’s near you? Post your local comic shop. Maybe someone will see a place they didn’t know about. And go do some end of year shopping. They need you right now.

I bought 19 bucks worth of dice at my local gaming shop just the other day!
Any advice on what the gaming store gets the most percentage of profit from selling? If the store isn’t making any money selling a certain good I’d rather buy it online. Directed efforts are better, so any advice?
I was introduced to the Dead Gentlemen by my Friendly Local Game Store (FLGS) Imperial Outpost, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Now I’m off for a good cuppa coffee crystals.
To 1d30: Go ask! Explain your thoughts and ask the manager or better yet the owner what items or categories really do pay their bills, and which ones don’t. Most owners won’t tell you exactly what their margin is but they’ll probably tell you what they’d like you to buy…
